Awards

Over the years Jim, Pat and Jeff have had their custom work noticed nationally, as well as internationally. In the past 40 years Jim has had around 50 magazine covers and as many as 150 centerfolds and features. He has done work from Germany, France, Sweden, and Italy, as well as over the United States. The awards he has received are almost too numerous to count. He won “Best Corvette”, “Best Paint” and the “Best Street Rod” at the Super Chevy Show in Memphis, TN. His red flamed ’37 Chevy has won the Top Gun award and has won seven more with other vehicles and motorcycles. He even has one car that has one over 43 first prize awards.



Jim has worked with DuPont to develop his own custom paint colors. He has several custom colors, ranging from Defew Peach Sherbet to Defew Lemon Twist. Jim, Jeff, and Pat have made many trips to Daytona, FL for Bike Week and have won many awards for the bikes they have built and painted.
